About "Quilting Complements" & Me...
This is me working on Sally's
Friendship Star Quilt (back
is background for this page)
in the "studio"....it's not
fancy (a basement room)
but it's adequate and clean!
I have been an avid quilter for many  years (like 27+).  I started
piecing and quilting all "by hand" well before the days of rotary
cutters and computerized machines.  When arthritis & other
hindrances began to limit my quilting time a couple years back, I
transitioned to (domestic) machine quilting and soon realized I
needed (wanted?) more capabilities....hence the investment in a
Gammill Classic Plus Quilting System and this business of quilting
for others was started in March 2003.  I've loved every minute
(hours actually) of it and find that I cherish every customer's quilt
just like my own!
Update June 2004:  I'm celebrating my 1st year anniversary already!  Where has the time gone?
I started with a goal of completing a "quilt a day" to keep a two week turn around time...and still trying
very hard to maintain that schedule.  I've made  mistakes (nothing super drastic thank goodness)
and each one has been a learning experience that keeps me on my toes - but I still love "birthing"
quilts of others.  I just wish I had some "extra" time for making my own quilts.  (more updates later...)

My how time has flown...I am now working on customer quilt #961 and it's June
30th, 2007 (over 4 years since #1).  Counting my own...and many QOV's  and
other charity quilts I've probably really quilted about 1000 tops on Lucy May!
This year I took the splurge to give Lucy some new feet (mine are holding up
well) and myself some wrist relaxation by replacing her wheels with
"Edgeriders"!  Boy have they made both our lives easier !!!  I can now do a lot of
freehand quilting that I wouldn't have attempted before...maybe that's partly due
to the new wheels
and partly due to the amount of time spent I've been
quilting...anyway...I still love long-arm quilting!
